Snowy Pennsylvania

One thing I always hope for and look forward to when I take a trip to PA during the winter is the snow. I’ve been disappointed for the past several years–it always comes too early or too late for my arrival there. But this year, it snowed not once, but twice while I was home visiting family!

The first snow arrived on Christmas Eve day while I was visiting friends. Driving home in that proved to be quite a challenge given that it’d been about six years since I’ve driven in snow. And it was dark. And it was freezing. Oh, and I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the temperature in my sister’s car to both keep myself warm and keep the windows from fogging up. So yeah, comedy of errors, but I eventually made it home safely. When I got home, I promptly got my camera, bundled up, and ran outside to take some photos in the dark.

The day after Christmas, I was supposed to fly back to Austin, but more snow put the kibosh on that. But it was fine for me. I wasn’t eager to return to work and it was lovely. Once again, I bundled up, grabbed my camera, and ran outside to take some photos.

Needless to say, the few days of snow coupled with endless holiday and family obligations meant that I didn’t get to do a lot of what I’d planned, but it was fine. I visited the York Central Market and had lunch with my friend at her brother’s restaurant, Mezzogiorno. After, we stopped by Sunrise Soap Company to pick up a few goodies. Other than that, I spent most of my time with my family–relaxing, watching movies, and non-stop eating. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
